Double Gold - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Gold Medal - Sonoma County Harvest Fair
Tasting Notes
Bright and crisp with aromas and flavors of fresh pear, baked apple, lemon curd and brioche, this elegant wine also features a touch of minerality complemented with a burst of soft acidity on the finish.
Vintage Notes
The 2024 growing season started off wet with abundant rains revitalizing the soil. Cooler temperatures extended ripening and allowed the grapes time to develop deep color, varietal intensity and balanced acidity. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel were picked in late August through early September, while the Bordeaux varieties were harvested in September concluding with a final pick of Cabernet Sauvignon in mid-October.
Vineyard Notes
We source the fruit for our Sonoma County Chardonnay from our estate vineyards in Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley, as well as from growers in Sonoma County’s other premier appellations, including Carneros and Alexander Valley. Each carefully selected vineyard contributes distinctive and individual qualities to the finished wine.
Winemaker Notes
To preserve Chardonnay’s delicate flavors, aromas and acidity, the grapes are picked at night and in the very early morning hours so the fruit arrives cold at the winery. Grapes are immediately pressed, then fermented in separate lots in French oak barrels. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for eight months. During aging, bâtonage (stirring the lees by hand) is performed to achieve complexity and a rich mouthfeel.
