Crafted by Winemaker Chris Louton for our exclusive Icon Collection, this Cabernet-driven Bordeaux-style blend is a testament to elegance and power. The nose unfolds with captivating layers of black currant, espresso, rosehip, and warm baking spices, inviting you into its complexity. On the palate, a luxurious tapestry of ripe blackberry, succulent plum, and crème de cassis is woven together with hints of dark cacao, clove, and vanilla bean. Silky and opulent, the wine’s mouthfeel is balanced by a firm, age-worthy structure that promises graceful evolution in the cellar. The mid-palate lingers with richness before transitioning into a polished finish of cool graphite, juicy black fruit, and finely integrated tannins. This blend pairs beautifully with slow-braised short ribs, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or an aged Manchego cheese, accentuating its depth and sophistication.
Our 2022 harvest began just a little earlier than the previous year, with the first fruit picked on August 15. Limited rainfall during the growing season produced slightly lighter crops, bringing intense, concentrated flavor and color. The consistent weather during the summer months helped maintain fruit acidity, bringing brightness and balance to the fruit’s flavors. Harvest continued through the middle of October when we picked the last red grapes from our Sonoma Valley estate, Wild Oak Vineyard.
This beautifully crafted blend showcases the diversity of Sonoma County’s most renowned growing regions: Russian River Valley AVA (54%) – Brings vibrant fruit and silky texture. Dry Creek Valley AVA (29%) – Adds bold structure and rich dark fruit notes. Sonoma Valley AVA (17%) – Contributes depth and refined elegance. Estate Vineyard Influence 60% Estate Grown Lagomarsino Vineyard (54%) – The backbone of this blend, known for powerful Cabernet fruit. Wild Oak Vineyard (3%) – Layers in soft spice and floral aromatics. Behler Vineyard (3%) – Adds plush texture and red fruit brightness. Together, these vineyards create a wine of exceptional character—harmonizing Sonoma’s varied terroir into a rich, age-worthy blend.
All grapes are gently de-stemmed before cold-soaking for two days to extract optimal color and flavor. The fruit is fermented in separate lots, allowing each lot to be individually and distinctly crafted before being aged in French oak barrels, 50% new. The wine is kept 20 months in barrel before final blending.
