We’re raising a glass to our President & CEO, Rick Bonitati, who has been nominated for Wine Executive of the Year in Wine Enthusiast’s 2026 Wine Star Awards!

The Wine Star Awards celebrate the people and organizations making an impact across the wine and beverage industry, making this a wonderful recognition for Rick and the leadership he brings to St. Francis every day.

Since joining St. Francis in 2018, Rick has brought more than 30 years of wine industry experience, along with a leadership style that is equal parts focused, collaborative and genuinely personal.

If you’ve spent time with Rick at the winery, you’ve probably experienced that firsthand. He makes time for people. He knows names, stops to say hello, shares a laugh and is just as comfortable talking wine with a guest as he is rolling up his sleeves and jumping in with the team.

His favorite saying, “Work hard and have fun doing it,” really does capture his approach. Rick sets big goals and keeps us moving toward them, but he also understands that the people behind the wine are what make St. Francis special.

For our Wine Club members, that spirit extends beyond the walls of the winery. Rick loves connecting with the people who visit us, sharing a glass, hearing your stories and celebrating the community that has grown around St. Francis over the years.

That’s what makes this nomination especially meaningful. It’s a recognition of leadership, yes, but also of the relationships, energy and sense of connection Rick brings to the people around him.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate this moment with Rick, and we’ll be cheering him on when the 2026 Wine Star Awards winners are announced in November.
