Our
Estate
Vineyards

Taste Sonoma

Our four Estate Vineyards: Behler, Wild Oak, Lagomarsino, and Río Este showcase the diversity of Sonoma County. Each of our vineyards possesses its own unique soil profile, micro-climate, and geographic distinction adding expression to the fruit and ultimately the wine. From foggy valley floors to sloping riverside hills the nuances of these regions are put on display within each glass poured. Caring for more than 400 acres of Certified Sustainable Vineyards between Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley, we take great pride in showcasing one of the world’s premier grape-growing regions.

Behler Vineyard

The original St. Francis estate vineyard, named Behler Vineyard after Will Behler, one of Sonoma Valley's agricultural pioneers. Our founder Joe Martin purchased the vineyard in 1971. Located on the northern-Sonoma Valley floor and bordered on two sides by Sonoma Creek, the soil profile is loam and gravel. The climate is moderated by both the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. It is a cool growing region ideal for both Chardonnay and Merlot.

Lagomarsino Vineyard

Extending East from the Russian River Valley floor to the rolling hills, this vineyard experiences moderate temperatures and excellent West/Southwest exposure. Chardonnay is planted in loam and clay soil in the coolest area, at the river flood plain. Midway up, in a warmer region, Sauvignon Blanc is planted in upland gravel and loam soil. Toward the top of the property with excellent western exposure, Cabernet Sauvignon thrives.

Rio Este Vineyard

Established in 2018, Río Este Vineyard is our newest estate, spanning 80 acres along the eastern bank of the Russian River in Healdsburg’s renowned Russian River Valley AVA. Nestled near Eastside Road and Old Redwood Highway, this vineyard benefits from the region’s signature cool climate and morning fog, ideal for cultivating exceptional Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Sauvignon Blanc. The diverse soils—Yolo sandy/silty loam for Pinot Noir and Zinfandel, and Pleasanton gravelly loam for Cabernet Sauvignon—contribute to the wines’ distinct character. While the vineyard’s low-lying location is prone to seasonal flooding, this natural cycle nourishes the vines, enhancing fruit concentration and complexity.
