MARCH CLUB SELECTIONS

2007 Old Vines Zinfandel, Tres Viejos, Sonoma County
Tres Viejos translates as “The Three Old Men”. Its name perfectly describes this wine. Each year we select three of Sonoma County’s oldest Zinfandel vineyards from our family of Old Vine Zinfandel growers - each contributing its own unique flavor profile. Together they represent the spectrum of complexity for which Sonoma County’s amazing Zinfandel vineyards are known.

2006 Cabernet Franc, McCoy Vineyard, Sonoma County
Indigenous to the Bordeaux region of France, Cabernet Franc is typically used as a blending grape. We felt the grapes from the McCoy Vineyard were too tasty to sit beneath the shadow of other varietals. Austere in texture, cassis and leather are usually the first aromas noticed, with underlying notes of plum and cranberry.

CHEF DAVE'S
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
Rockpile Red |
"The rich concentrated favors, characteristic of mountain grown fruit from the Rockpile AVA, help to make Rockpile Red an ideal pairing
with the bold flavors found in the foods of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean region. I especially like this wine with red pasta sauces, such as Bolognese. It also pairs well with pizza, bruschetta, ratatouille, and sweet Italian sausage with peppers."

For decades, Rod and Cathy Park have been producing beautifully concentrated mountain grown fruit on the historic Rockpile Ranch, high in the coastal hills of northwest Sonoma County. Our winemaking team crafts Rockpile Red from a blend of hand-picked Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot from this famed vineyard. Abundant with deep color and rich spice and tobacco flavors, this bold red blend is always a Wine Club favorite.
