| Five Spice Spare Ribs
Suggested Wine: Merlot |

| Ingredients: | 2 pounds spare rib rack, cut in half lengthwise ¼ cup hoisin sauce ¼ cup red wine ¼ cup ketchup ½ teaspoon five spice powder 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger |
| Directions: | Boil the ribs in salted water for 45 minutes or until tender. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the remaining ingredients. Simmer the sauce in a small saucepot for 5 minutes. Coat the ribs with half of the sauce and for 10 minutes. Coat the ribs with the remaining sauce and cook another 10 minutes or until the meat is very tender. |
